❛ a’hoy, sir ! are you from the mainland ? you don’t look like the fishermen that usually visit us ! ❜ @bloodfroze / liked !

Fishermen
I’ve been wanting to paint something that reminded me of home for a while. So here’s a little fisherman helping his dad at Peggy’s Cove.

❛ hello ? are ya lost ? do you need any help ? ❜ asks with a helpful and hopeful smile. he can recognize all the names and faces of old port residents from the back of his hand ; any visitor and newcomer would stick out like a buoy at sea. / @cavallon / liked !
- OLD PORT is severed from the rest of the world unless it be through fishermen from the states or elsewhere. so, you can expect their progression to be very different or like .. a few decades delayed, especially technology wise. danny doesn’t even have a tv he watches (though there’s one old one in the bar but it’s the antennae kind, so it won’t work) and he spends a lot of time out with people around the port – he’s pretty much able to recall everyone by name; that’s how small the town is. for his free time .. he sometimes reads some books (probably literature his uncle or some of the other residents has) and YEAH.
- danny can’t even drive bc there’s no need for cars in old port.
- he has the tendency to sometimes use old-timey lingo and be inept with technology (except the radio ofc), but be very interested about it.
- also don’t drop him a lot of movie references bc he doesn’t know (only time he does is when he has timely leaves off old port and into the states — or ‘mainland’ as old people call them).
- most of old port’s food supplies are fish that old port’s fishermen catch.
- they’re all very Aware of fish ok.
JFDLSAKJFLKJ AAAA ! THANK YOU SO MUCH ! he’s a revived oc crybaby… <3 and actually ! … the seemingly abrupt cut-off was intended….. :3c

❛ hey, uhh ! can ya help me from here ? ❜

OLD PORT IS … actually a stable dock that’s been pretty much holding up a very, very small town for two hundred or so years. the fog has been a common occurrence, really, and had only acted up since around the last four decades
the dock is wide and there’s two main routes people can walk through. one has mostly small homes with some shops leading towards the tiny, tiny island (consisting of mainly trees and scarce wildlife). and the other side has predominantly markets. there’s also a bar that most of the outside fishermen visiting hang out before they ship out again.
YELLS!! if something on my page doesn’t work, let me know. i’ll be in and out of editing here BUT I’LL BE VERY MUCH ON!
